Not because most of the trips and vacations are made either by airway or water, means you have to do that too. Plane tickets and cruises are really expensive, meanwhile, any day you like, you can take your car for a spin and discover amazing corners in the world you didn't know where there.
1.- Barrancas del cobre, Chihuahua
When you get to Chihuahua, you'll notice there are many railroads, this is because the famous train "Chepe" crosses most of the state's beautiful towns. Instead of taking the train, you can drive to different destinations.
While in the road, the views you can see are like the Old West, and ones you get there it's all mountains and amazingness.
The main attraction is an amazing park that offers the opportunity to:
- Rappel
- Ride one of the 3 longest zip lines in the world (8,350 feet long)
- Via Ferrata: this is a path with nails, staples, dams, railings, chains, suspension bridges. (you are only carried by a harness)

2 - Yucatán, Yucatán
If you go to Cancún, Cozumel or Tulum, getting to Yucatan will be easy. Get the chance to see new places that aren't the ones trending. Mérida, which is the capital of the state is just a 2h and a half drive away from the touristic places mentioned before. Besides meeting the city, visit the "Colorados", these are salt waters naturally painted pink, it's worth a visit. The weather is semi-dry, temperate and with few rains, and also the biodiversity of flora and fauna is great.
3 - San Cristóbal, Chiapas
Chiapas is located at the south of Mexico and it shares borders with Guatemala. This is one of the places you want to get to know as soon as possible because of its beauty, there is plenty to do and see. The car is more than necessary, because the places to visit aren't close enough to go by foot. "San Cristóbal de las casas" is one of the many towns located in Chiapas that is worth a visit. In this special place, you can really appreciate the Mexican culture, besides the natural views such as waterfalls and rivers are stunning.
4 - Tapalpa, Jalisco
Located at the top of a mountain 2h and 30min drive (118 km) from the city Guadalajara, its name means "Land of color place", and it has 19,506 habitants.
Up there, the weather is cold and dry, you can do many things such as:
- Visit the huge rocks
- Ride horses
- Zip line
- Go to the Tianguis (Flee Market)
Any dish or type or food you taste there, will be a pleasant explosion for your palate.
